Blame Religion, Slavery and Racism
The blameless victim is no more. As Farrakhan once said there are no more excuses to still be in this state as a people with a power potential. We are no longer in physical chains, we do not need permission to leave the plantation. If your neighborhood is being exploited by “The other’ then that says more about you than them. I do not blame them, because they could only exploit if there was something to exploit. If you refuse to go and get the skills and organize your money to build your own businesses in your own community then someone else will. If you do not support those who tell your stories and chronicle your history– someone else will. We are in the era of responsibility for our choices, slavery ended a long time ago– and using it as an excuse for sitting down doing nothing long has expired. In addition, it is an insult to our ancestors who really had something to complain about. We have every opportunity to do more than they ever could dream of doing. And if you still think you are enslaved, then that is slavery of your own choice. You are both the slave and the master of your enslavement.

If most of our people do not know, how do we expect Whites to know and understand us? Sometimes we see everything they do as racist. Well it is not all racist. They set up their stuff to promote self. And that is cool. Why it appears to be Racism is only because we have no counter. So we are left being imposed upon. It is like a boxing match where one boxer does not show up. So they make all the dolls in the shop White, because that is what they look like. If we honestly want African dolls then go and make them and put them in our Pan-African chain stores. If we want films about Ancient Egypt with Denzel as Ramses then go and support the African film industry. This is basic NOI and Garvey ideology. Go and build the world you want to live in.
Many, especially non-Africans have accused some African people of using slavery as an excuse for everything negative. But to be fair there is a lot to be blamed for slavery, its legacy is very real. So while this issue is very true the African must look at this world as a race.
Personal Note: So there is a race, you have to run it or not run it. That is the only options available. Be part of this civilization or be a victim of this civilization. If you opt-out—as many have—sitting down means the Chinese come and own your country, taking everything colonialism left behind which most African leaders still squander. So you can sit down if you want, but do not complain when your water and oil are owned by multinationals. Now it is 100% that we come from the legacy of slavery, that comes as default, you still (with this disadvantage) have to run the same race with the Europeans, Arabs, Turks, Indians and Chinese. Everyone except the Europeans have some sort of handicap. Maybe the Arabs are entering the race with a broken arm, maybe the Chinese only a broken finger, maybe Africans are the most damaged in the race with no arms at all and myopic vision— but you still must find a way of running that race and being victorious. That is what life handed you. You cannot sit it out and say mental slavery made me late for the start, or the legacy of slavery slowed me down. That might well explain your handicap, but it is of no consequence to the finish line. In short the world does not care about losers and if Africans do not find a way the legacy of slavery will be extended until the Sun consumes the Earth. Its a choice, run or make excuses.
EXCUSES
Excuses, even good ones do not help us grow. We can talk about what happened to our ancestors til we blue black in the face, Tomorrow –unless you take action to change it, you will own the same share of the world as your ancestors. Your assembly of excuses (no matter how well formatted) will be of no help to you in rebuilding your economy or your family. Now some of us look, not for excuses, but REASONS for failure, and we use this information to repair ourselves. We understand our failure in creating positive images of ourselves so we go out there and fix the problem. Some of us understand the great issue of lack of information about self and we go out there and create information about self. That is what SOME of us do. The others post excuses to make them feel good about life at the bottom of the food chain.
